The Family Tree
Bloodlines. Consanguinity. They are the root systems of a Family Tree, until the law & legal precedence and religious precepts butt in to throw innumerable wrenches into the works. Then you got a donnybrook of who you do or don’t marry; divorce; and most importantly, be fruitful and multiply with to consider and track. Man, I miss the days when you grabbed a head of hair, dragged ’em back to the cave and made yourselves a young Grok or Naangi. It was all so simple then…
So a quick tutorial on how to read these trees.
- Each tree displays the members that are directly related, whether by law or blood, to the root member. The root member will have a YELLOW background. Distinctions are made, however, by their placement in trees. For example, a half or step member may appear in one tree and not another, if there was no legal adoption in one family and of a different biological parent from another. It is up to the administrator to create the appropriate trees to allow for this.
- To quickly jump to another tree, click on the
icon under each member’s name. This will take you to a tree where that member is the root member. - Please keep in mind, these trees are subject to the information entered into the database. They may or may not be entirely accurate, based on what the author chooses to share (or knows). Don’t get your panties all in a bunch over it. You can always get your own FamilyBook.name site if you want or need to fix it right.
